My financial situation is not different from anyone, starts out with a line of credit, two credit cards, next thing I know that I am just spinning my wheels just making the minimum payment each month. Stress brings desperation, call my bank ask for a small loan, got turned down, which lead me to Consolidated’s debt counselling program.

I am writing you today to advise you of the outstanding job that Muriel has done on my behalf since my acceptance into the Consolidated Credit Counselling program. When everyone else would attempt possible solutions at getting all of my creditors to come on board Muriel took me under her wing and guided me through to the end of a very long year. She worked with me and for me until she found a solution to any of the hold out creditors that gave me trouble to the end. She made suggestions, requested information and followed through with the information she obtain until such time that my creditors finally agreed to join the program. I wanted to take a moment to say ‘thanks’ to everyone at Consolidated for helping me to get a handle on my debts.

When I first called I was constantly stressed and was receiving collection calls from my creditors on a constant basis. Taking cash advances from one creditor to pay another. I did not know how I was going to get through this until I heard a commercial one day driving to work and I thought “what the heck it cannot be any worse than what I am dealing with right now.” Consolidated managed to obtain either a 0% interest rate or very close to that for almost all of my creditors.

At the time when I joined Consolidated I had been trying to pay off my debt for about 3 years and felt that I was not making any headway. I then saw a commercial which spoke about "being on a treadmill" and realized that was me! Before joining I was feeling hopeless. Your program gave me back my hope.

1.- While on the program I have learned to budget. For example, I now use grocery shopping lists and avoid impulse buying.
