Hi, my name is Scott and today I am debt free!! I found myself drowning in debt
and thought that I could pay all my monthly minimum payments and everything
would work out. It didn't, and I didn't want to answer the phone or open my
mail.
I was too proud and embarrassed to reach out and ask for help and was constantly full of fear and anxiety. I even used one credit card to pay the minimum payment on another credit card. I kept falling further behind, and I felt like I was just paying bills and living paycheque to paycheque.
I really didn't want to go bankrupt and I found out that I didn't have to. I found Consolidated Credit Counseling of Canada online , visited their website and did the on-line debt analysis. I received a phone call within a couple of days and soon was on my way to becoming debt-free. I was enrolled in a debt-management program, by a trained counsellor and was now paying one monthly fee to all of my creditors. After a budget review and one on one counselling, I discovered that even with the program I still had money for other things in my life. The initial information package I received in the mail was informative and let me know that I could call at any time if I had any questions. The staff was understanding and helpful. My fear and anxiety were lifted, and best of all no one knew what I was doing ,this program is completely confidential!
Today, I am debt free. Best of all, I think and act differently with regards to how I spend my money. I don't have an overdraft or a credit card any longer, and life is good. I follow my budget and have money in a savings account, to which I regularly contribute.. I have even referred a friend to the program at Consolidated, and she couldn't believe how helpful it was.
